About the Mobile Library
This box truck was once used to deliver and implement our First Things First parenting education program, Fun Van. As the program changed over the years, there was no longer a need for this large of a vehicle.
In 2020, the box of the truck was rewrapped with the current graphics, created by library staff, that illustrateour mission to connect to our community, and our pride for this beautiful city where we live, work, and play.
In 2022, we were awarded a grant by the Arizona State Library, Archives & Public Records, a division of the Secretary of State, with federal funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services to renovate the interior of the cargo area of our truck. Our friends at Quality Vans and Specialty Vehicles in Tempe installed new wall-mounted, cantilever shelving.
The Mobile Library was officially dedicated and the ribbon cut by Apache Junction Mayor on March 2, 2023.
