About the Mobile Library

This box truck was once used to deliver and implement our First Things First parenting education program, Fun Van. As the program changed over the years, however, there was no longer a need for this large of a vehicle.

In 2020, the box of the truck was rewrapped with the current graphics, created by library staff, that illustrate our mission to connect to our community as well as our pride for this beautiful city where we live, work and play.

In 2022, we were awarded a grant by the Arizona State Library, Archives & Public Records, a division of the Secretary of State, with federal funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services to renovate the interior of the cargo area of our truck. Our friends at Quality Vans and Specialty Vehicles in Tempe installed new wall-mounted, cantilever shelving.

The Mobile Library was officially dedicated and the ribbon cut by the Mayor of Apache Junction on March 2, 2023.
