GOAL 1
The community will gain equitable access to library resources.
Strategy 1
Assess interior spaces to ensure they are fully accessible to all patrons in accordance with ADA standards. (2025–2026)
Strategy 2
Advance toward autism-friendly standards by enhancing staff awareness, adapting spaces, and developing inclusive programs and services that support individuals on the spectrum.
Strategy 3
Provide materials that reflect the diverse experiences, identities, and perspectives of all people as part of our dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Strategy 4
Offer library resources and service information in Spanish and conduct outreach within the Apache Junction Spanish communities.

Patrons will easily discover library materials, services, and resources.
Strategy 1
Increase visibility of the library’s digital offerings by integrating promotions into newsletters, website features, social media content, as well as staff-led tutorials or demonstrations.
Strategy 2
Improve the discoverability of materials by enhancing catalog tools, signage, displays, and staff support. (2025–2026)
Strategy 3
Offer a library website that is engaging, intuitive, and easily navigable. (2025–2026)
Strategy 4
Explore emerging trends in library program promotion and implement regular, reliable advertising schedules to enhance public engagement.

Library resources and services will reflect the wants and needs of the community.
Strategy 1
Collaborate with community partners to maintain current resources, keep patrons informed, and empower partners to serve as library ambassadors and advocates. (2025–2026)
Strategy 2
Develop and deliver programs and services tailored to the needs, interests, and schedules of children aged 6 to 12, as well as families. (2025–2026)
Strategy 3
Strengthen and expand partnerships with local schools to support student learning, family engagement, and lifelong connections to the library.
Strategy 4
Explore the feasibility of offering ESL and conversational English classes, job and career fairs, and expanding access to employment-related resources to support community workforce development.

The use and design of library spaces will be evaluated and enhanced to ensure they align with the evolving needs, preferences, and behaviors of our community.
Strategy 1
Increase the amount and variety of seating options to support comfort, accessibility, and diverse use of library space, including quiet study, collaborative work, and casual gathering. (2025–2026)
Strategy 2
Redesign youth areas to better serve older school-age children and children with special needs, improve collection layout, and provide more effective use of furniture and displays.
Strategy 3
Increase awareness and usage of the Audiovisual Studio through targeted promotion, staff-led demonstrations, and integration into library programming. (2025–2026)
Strategy 4
Establish clear guidelines for appropriate use of library spaces—such as designated areas for food and equitable access to seating—to ensure a clean, comfortable, and inclusive environment for all patrons. (2025–2026)
