What is a Book Club Kit?
A kit includes multiple copies of a book (5-12 copies). In most kits there will be discussion questions, the author’s bio, a book summary and AJPL bookmarks. All these materials are packaged in a plastic tote for easy organization and handling.

What titles are available?

How long is the check-out period?
6 weeks. The kit may be renewed if no holds have been placed on the item.

May I make copies of the Discussion Questions for readers?
Yes, definitely. However, we ask that all the laminated material in the kit be returned so that others may make use of the information.

Who can check out the kits?
Book Club Kits can be borrowed by any book club or discussion group. The entire Kit is checked out to one member of the group. That member must have a current Apache Junction library card and will be responsible for the entire kit and its return.

What if a book is lost?
The person who checks out the Kit is financially responsible for returning all of the pieces. If your group loses a book, we ask that you replace it with a new or a gently used copy of the same title, or pay a replacement fee of $10. If your group loses an entire Book Club Kit, the replacement fee will be $100.

What is the late charge?
Apache Junction Public Library does not charge overdue fines for late materials. However, lost and damaged fees still apply. Accounts with extremely overdue items may be submitted to a collection agency. Note: Fines may still accrue for items from other Pinal County Library District libraries.

Please return items on time so all patrons may use them.

Fee balances must be at or below $5.00 before the card can be used for library services.

What if I need extra copies?
You can check the library’s catalog to see what copies are available for check out. You can also check online with the Greater Phoenix Digital Library e-books collection.

These Kits were put together almost entirely from donated books. To make more titles available, we encourage groups to donate multiple copies of books which we will consider for addition to the collection.
