The Library Garden is open! Stay tuned for gardening and outdoor events in September.

The Apache Junction Public Library is excited to introduce our new 20,000 square foot community garden—a space designed to extend the library beyond our walls and into the outdoors, with a breathtaking view of the Superstition Mountains!

This project reflects our commitment to creating welcoming, accessible spaces where people can learn, connect, and grow. The garden will serve as an outdoor extension of the library, blending nature, education, and community engagement in a way that supports all ages.

Designed with both functionality and beauty in mind, the garden will feature areas for reading, gathering, and hands-on learning, including an outdoor amphitheater for programs and events. By incorporating native and drought-tolerant plants, the space will also highlight sustainable practices that are especially important in our desert environment.

As construction progresses, we look forward to sharing updates and inviting the community to watch this space transform into a vibrant, living resource for Apache Junction.

The garden will offer new opportunities for the community to experience the library in meaningful and engaging ways.

Beyond programming, the garden will serve as a shared community space—one that encourages connection, creativity, and well-being. The amphitheater will create new opportunities for performances and community storytelling, while the surrounding garden offers a place to unwind and explore.

It will also act as a living example of sustainable landscaping, showcasing plants and practices suited to our local climate.

We hope this garden becomes a place where residents can gather, learn something new, and feel a deeper connection to both the library and the natural environment around them.

This project is supported by the Arizona State Library, Archives & Public Records, a division of the Secretary of State, with funds appropriated by the Arizona State Legislature.
